"That came from me? I can't believe it." That is what most people say after their first experience of Heart, Hands & Healing Art©, a process of painting with hands on canvas. It is truly amazing to see what comes from Creation into the heart, out through the hands and onto the canvas!
I offer this program to others after I had a major breakthrough while painting with my hands. I realized that I had buried a lot of my creativity and talent as artist due to childhood issues. This remembrance assisted me on my continued journey of self-discovery.
As a certified hypnotherapist, I start the program with soft music and relaxation to assist people to get connected to their creative self – this often forgotten part of themselves buried deep within, affected to some degree by a person, comment or incident from childhood. The process of painting with hands is a gentle way of reconnecting with that part.
Participants are asked to stroke the canvas, to connect with it, before picking paints they feel guided to reach for. Often people think they have an idea of what they want to paint before they start yet they are always surprised and pleased with what is created!
Artists are encouraged to wear old clothes so they can give themselves permission to express, to really “let loose and get dirty.” The program offers each participant the opportunity to “Get out of their head and into their heart” because every one has their own “inner masterpiece” just waiting to be expressed and revealed on canvas!
